Terms of Service

Marrow is an online marketplace that connects venues (pubs, clubs, hotels, and event spaces) with artists (DJs, singers, and bands) in Ireland. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Marrow.
• You must have the legal capacity to enter into contracts in Ireland.
• Artist accounts are subject to manual review and approval before they can apply for gigs.
• We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate any account at our discretion.

• Venues post gigs with a budget, date, and genre requirements. Artists apply with a quote and message. Venues accept or decline applications.
• Artists apply to open gigs. When accepted, a booking is created and the venue pays through the platform before the gig takes place.
• Payment escrow: venue payment is held securely via Stripe until the venue marks the gig as complete, at which point the artist's payout is released.

• Artists pay a artist booking fee (flat €10), deducted from the agreed fee.
• Venues pay a venue booking fee (flat €15) on top of the agreed artist fee.
• Example: if the agreed fee is €300, the venue pays €315 and the artist receives €290. Marrow earns €25.
• Founding member artists receive their first 3 bookings with the artist booking fee waived.
• All payments are processed via Stripe. Marrow does not handle card data directly.

• An agency account represents one or more artists on the platform. Agency accounts are subject to manual review and approval, in addition to the eligibility requirements in Section 2.
• Artist profiles managed by an agency are controlled by that agency. There is no self-service process for an artist to take over a profile an agency manages; disputes over representation are handled by Marrow at hello@joinmarrow.ie on a case-by-case basis.
• When a venue books a represented artist, the venue pays the same flat €15 booking fee as an independent booking. The represented artist does not pay Marrow's artist fee for that booking — the agency is compensated separately by its own arrangement with the artist.
• The agency sets its own commission rate when it submits a quote for a gig. That rate is disclosed to the venue only as "agency representation" — Marrow does not publish an agency's internal commission rate to venues or other agencies.
• Marrow charges the agency a service fee equal to 10% of the agency's commission on each completed booking, deducted before settlement, with no cap.
• The agency, not Marrow, is responsible for paying its artist. Marrow settles funds to the agency's connected Stripe account once a booking is marked complete, under the same escrow and release rules as independent bookings (Section 3). Marrow is not a party to, and has no visibility or liability for, the arrangement between an agency and the artists it represents.
• Agencies must onboard a Stripe Connect account with active transfer capability before any agency-managed quote can be accepted.
• Existing independent artist profiles cannot be converted to agency-managed profiles without the artist's recorded consent and an administrative action by Marrow.
• Agency accounts are subject to the same suspension, termination and dispute provisions as any other account (Sections 2, 7, 8, 9), applied at the agency level.

• Provide accurate and truthful information on your profile.
• Only apply to gigs you are genuinely able to perform.
• Honour confirmed bookings. If you cannot attend, notify the venue and Marrow (hello@joinmarrow.ie) as early as possible.
• Maintain professional conduct with venues.
• Connect your Stripe account to receive payouts. Marrow is not responsible for delays caused by incomplete Stripe onboarding.

• Post accurate gig information including date, time, genre requirements, and budget.
• Pay through the Marrow platform before the gig takes place. Off-platform payments are prohibited.
• Mark gigs as complete promptly after the artist has performed to release their payment.
• Treat artists professionally and provide the agreed-upon performance environment.

• Venue cancels: contact hello@joinmarrow.ie immediately. Refund eligibility depends on notice given — we aim to be fair to both parties.
• Artist cancels: the venue will be refunded. Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension.
• Marrow is not liable for losses caused by cancellations beyond our control.

If a dispute arises between a venue and artist (e.g. non-performance, payment disagreement), contact us at hello@joinmarrow.ie. We will investigate and mediate. Payment will be held in escrow until the dispute is resolved. Marrow's decision in disputes is final.

• Making or accepting payments for Marrow-originated bookings outside the platform.
• Creating fake or misleading profiles.
• Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users.
• Posting illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, threatening, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable content.
• Bullying, impersonating, exploiting, or encouraging harm against another person.
• Sending spam, scams, malicious links, or unsolicited commercial messages.
• Uploading content that infringes another person's privacy, copyright, trademark, or other rights.
• Attempting to circumvent platform fees.

Users can report a booking conversation and block the other participant using the Safety controls in Messages. Other objectionable profiles, gigs, reviews, or conduct can be reported to hello@joinmarrow.ie. Marrow reviews reports and may remove content, restrict messaging, suspend accounts, preserve evidence, or notify relevant authorities where appropriate. Violations may result in immediate account termination without refund.

Marrow is a marketplace platform and is not a party to the contract between artist and venue. We are not liable for the quality of performances, venue conditions, or any losses arising from cancelled or disputed gigs. Our total liability to any user is limited to the Marrow fees paid in the 12 months preceding any claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

We may update these Terms as the platform grows. Active users will be notified of significant changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
